Billy Meyer

Mr. Meyer has over 45 years experience in the ownership and management of multiple business enterprises. Mr. Meyer’s business career began at the age of 16, as the youngest licensed funny car driver in the history of drag racing. He would later partner with Hal Needham and Burt Reynolds to design and drive the Budweiser Rocket Car, becoming the first car to break the sound barrier.

In 1986, in the midst of a successful racing career, Mr. Meyer designed and developed the Texas Motorplex located in Ennis, TX. It was the first all-concrete race track that instantly produced some of the best numbers in drag racing, and it soon became the model for other raceways throughout the world.

Just like his vision that redefined the face of drag racing, Mr. Meyer has produced a successful record of business creation and development throughout multiple industries that include corporate aviation, construction, restoration, deer breeding, publishing, internet technology, real estate development, loan acquisitions, and commercial real estate. Mr. Meyer’s experience and established network of contacts provides a platform for First Texas Capital to capitalize on various investment forums.
